Monthly Weather Roundup...August 2010.
August, turned out to be a very unsettled month with plenty of wind and rain. On average the area saw 12 dry days but some 19 wet days and 32mms [1.3 inches] fell on the 23rd and the same amount of rain fell a few days later on the 26th at the [VOEWS] "Vale Of Evesham Weather Station" Total rainfall was recorded at 120.2mms [5 inches] which was double the average rainfall for the Worcestershire area. Some windy days too, with 31mph recorded on the 24th with higher gusts in more exposed areas. Temperatures were roughly average by day, and the average nightly temperatures were slightly below average, with a low of 4.3c on the last day of the month, but equally the highest recorded temperature this month was 25.3c on the 16th. There was some thunderstorms during this period too, along with some squally rainbands around the mid month . Average daytime temperatures are 21c ,the average this month was 21.3c , the average nighttime temperature is 12.1c and the average came out at 11.6c.
