Happy New Year...!!

Evening, folks and it has to be said it not a bad New Years eve to be out and about, and even though its fairly cold it not so cold as the last two New Years have been, so not to bad if youre one of the Party goers and are seeing the 2011 in! Little change in the next 24 hrs with dull ,dank Misty weather and a Cold front will be slipping down from the North Tommorow Afternoon so that will introduce colder weather but also with some mainly light rain, Saturday afternoon /evening. That will clear later Saturday evening then clear skies and a widespread frost will develop with temperatures down to minus5/24f by Sunday morning, so some icy stretches on untreated roads and pavements once again, Some patchy freezing fog may well develop and hang around all day in some places , but other places may well see some prolonged Winter Sunshine such as the high ground of the Malverns etc. A cold day on Sunday, with temperatures getting just above freezing, but where the fog lingers the temperatures at or below freezing. Whatever youre doing enjoy yourself and take care and I will be back with our Week Ahead forecast later on Sunday.....Happy New Year!

Post Christmas Blues...!!

A slow thaw as been around the last few days, dissolving our beautiful white snow and leaving a slushy mess behind, and the weather although milder has been rather somber looking with grey laden skies ,drizzle and fog. If you dont like this type of weather then look away now as this type of weather will be with us to greet the New Year in! So expect quiet calm conditions Thursday and Friday, but with lots of mist and fog , but perhaps some holes in the cloud so a little brightness during the day but perhaps some isolated frost over the next couple of nights with lows of minus 3c/27f. Highs in the next couple of days will be around 4c/39f. If youre interested in seeing feet of snow settle very quickly, have a look at this link which shows the Boxing Day snow storm in the Usa, a few days ago under a "timelapse"

Merry Christmas...!!!

Evening Folks. Well the rush for Christmas is just about over for most folks and the Festive Over-indulgence is just to start, or perhaps has already begun!!, and this weeks severe weather has certainly not helped in the travelling and preperation for the run up to Christmas. Well the good news is that we will have a "White Christmas" underfoot, but a quiet Christmas Day and Boxing Day on the weather scene as high pressure will be controlling our weather. Both Days, will be dry with plenty of Winter sunshine, but extremely cold nights and Days, Xmas morning may well see temperatures down to minus15c/5f and not get above minus 6c in a good many places, so lets hope Santa has brought you loads of thermal clothes!!
Similar weather on Boxing day, Frigid but Fine, but a word of caution is that some patchy freezing fog could effect some places. Anyway Im off to make Santa a nice hot Flask of tea, laced with some Brandy, and stick it by the fireplace, hopefully that will make Santa keep warm and put him in a very good mood and then he may leave me loads of Prezzies...!!and I hope Christmas brings you all the happiness in the World. Merry Christmas Everyone.......

A Pint Of Mild.....!

We reached 7.7c /45f here in Evesham today which is bang on average for the time of year ,but it felt mild as we have not seen that temperature for some time. Enjoy it while it lasts as from Sunday it gets much colder! Tonight will see rather a lot of cloud so a frost is generally unlikely, although there could well be the odd patch of frost just about anywhere and then Saturday very similar to today, rather a lot of cloud, some brightness at times and around 7c/45f. A colder night to come over Saturday night into Sunday morning with a fairly widespread frost with temperatures down to minus 3c ,and then a fair day with patchy cloud, and a maximum temperature of 4c/39f and from there on it becomes very much colder, but more about that on our video forecast on Sunday. Have a good weekend. See Ya Ian.

A Little Less Cold.....

If youre fed up with the Perishingly cold conditions which seems to have last for an eternity, there is a glimmer of hope as some what "less" cold conditions will move in over the next couple of days ,but it has to be said most place will still see slightly below average temperatures, but at least temperatures will be a little above freezing in the daytime, something we have hardly seen of late!Tonight will see the normal conditions of frost and fog but less fog than recently, but still cold ,with temperatures dowm to minus 6c/23f say for instance in Chipping Campden in the Cotswolds. Thursday will start off very cold, with that frost but through the day temperatures will lift just above freezing with a breeze coming from the NorthWest, but still feeling very chilly. A dry day but generally becoming cloudy later with perhaps some light drizzly conditions affecting the Brecon Beacons, The Black Mountains, and the Cambrian Mountains and that takes us into a somewhat milder night Thursday into Friday hopefully all of us escaping a Frost but rather cloudy , but mainly dry except perhaps on the High Ground in the West. 5c/41f  a maximum so feeling somewhat "friendlier " out in the Great Outdoors! I will be back later on Friday Take care  SeeYa Ian.
