Happy Christmas!!

Well its thats time of year again ,but the weather over the Christmas period will feel anything like Seasonal! Tonight will feel colder and ice may form on some untreated surfaces. Lows of 3c/37f . Christmas Eve, will initially start cold and bright but increasingly breezy and cloudier as move through the day. A cold feeling day but during the Evening it will start to feel milder then on to Christmas Day, it will well and truly be a "Green" Christmas complete contrast to this time last year.! Highs of 10c]50f with some brightness ,but with a noticable wind , and if youre out doing some walking  either before or after your Christmas Dinner it will feel colder than the temperature suggests! Boxing Day similar. So whatever youre doing have a Very Merry Christmas and I hope Christmas brings you much happiness and everything you ever wanted. See Ya Ian.

Weather Round Up For November.

November 2011 carried on from October as an unusually warm month ,in fact making it one of the warmest Novembers on Record in the last 100 years and thus resulting in making the Autumn months of September, October and November 2011 the Mildest for over 100 years! Rainfall again was at a Premium across our area but as the rainfall stats at the end of this summery shows the West again had average to well above average rainfall. Rainfall here in Evesham recorded by [VOEWS] was 30.6mms [1.4inches] which was about half of the November rainfall average. Temperatures were once again way above average, about 3 degrees on average. Average day temperature is 9.8c/49f and recorded was 12.9c/55f!! Average Night temperature is 3.8c/39f and the recorded temperature came out at  7.1c/45f!!  There was only two Ground Frosts and one air frost recorded on the 28th at minus 0.7c/31f. Very windy at times and a gust of 34mph from the South was recorded on the 29th. Little in the way of any interesting weather given the Atmospheric set-up!

Your Weekend Forecast.

Well I hope this picture here does not give you the wrong idea that theres going to be plenty wet weather around this weekend , because there wont be , but even this little fella would be happy with the weekend forecast given the time of year!Saturday:- will be dry and bright at times with perhaps some sunny intervals, and mild at 13c/55f, but there will be a talking point and that will be the strength of the wind. Some of the wind gusts could well exceed 40 mph in some exposed locations such as the Black Mountains, Cotswolds or Malverns so if youre out and about on Saturday hang on to your hats.!! Winds moderating during the evening and some clear spells overnight, before we are greeted with some blustery conditions early Sunday morning.
Sunday:- starts on a rather squally note at first light with some patchy rain, and this clears away fairly Quickly to leave increasing sunshine and  winds falling light. 12c/54f should feel pleasant in the sunshine and light winds in the early afternoon sunshine, but clear calm conditions in the evening will lead to a frost overnight into Monday morning. Have a great weekend whatever you are doing. See Ya Ian.

Week Ahead Forecast.

The "Top"map above shows that the Uk has long been in a battle between high pressure over Europe and Low pressure just to the west of the Uk giving us Southerly Winds and consequently a record warm October and increasingly likely November to be in the top Five of the warmest Novembers in the last 100 years. Little change this week, and slow changes with most of the rain over Wales, little further East perhaps untill Friday where we see something of a pattern change as the map above shows with the European high subsiding and more of the Atlantic weather predominating us.      Untill then tonight will see fog patches developing tonight perhaps patchy frost then Monday rather misty and murky these conditions slow to clear, and Tuesday rather similar until some patchy rain on Tuesday evening ,Then bright and mild during Wednesday and Thursday untill late in the day when rain and wind moves through, and leaves Friday bright and Blustery with a few showers and feeling rather chilly in the wind compared to recently highs of 10c/50f. Your "Spooky" weekend forecast!!

An early weekend forecast from me, but I do have to say that for any Halloween festivities or tricking and treating, away from tonight it dont look too bad with fairly typical weather for this time of year. Tonight will see any rain dying out and  dense fog will form later with the odd patch of ice first thing on Friday. We have a weather warning for this period for more details please take a look. Friday night looks breezy but no fog or frost problems and then into Saturday will see mainly fair conditions but with some late evening/overnight rain with some fairly breezy weather, this clears early on Sunday to leave another fairly mild fair day with a top temperature a very healthy temperature for this time of year of 16c/61f! WEATHER ROUNDUP FOR JULY 2011.

July was once again a predominantly unsettled month. There was no picticularly hot spell, 26.2c /80f was the top temperature this month in this area. Rainfall was once again below average in the Vale Of Evesham, coming in at 20mms/less than one inch, compare that to the monthly average of 52mms [2inches] Of note here, is that up to the middle of August only 9 inches of rain has fell since Jan 1st ,compare that to the month of July 2007 nearly that much rain fell in that month alone!! Mid month was fairly windy too with gusts over 30mph mainly from a Westerly direction on the 17th. The lowest temperature recorded this month was 3c/37f on the 3rd. The average nightime temperature here is 12.4c and the recorded average came out at 10.2c,/50f so cooler than average, the Daytime high average is 21.7c making July the warmest month of the year and the recorded average was just below that at 21.1c/70f. Once again a rather poor month for Summer lovers as even when it was dry there was rather a lot of cloud around.

Friday night into Saturday will see a cool night ,then fine sunny conditions to start then cloud bubbling up but with some sunshine too and about a 10% chance of somewhere seeing a shower, but it will be the exception! That sets the scene into Sunday, but with increasing warmth with temperatures pushing up towards the later part of the day into the 70,s a 24c/75f  is likely quite widely around Worcester,Gloucester, Oxford ,Warwick and the Birmingham area. ,Monday similar but with an increasing risk of showers, I will be back later on Monday with your week ahead forecast....See Ya Ian.

Your Week Ahead Forecast.

July,s Weather Predictions.

My thoughts for July is for the weather to be predominantly unsettled, meaning there is unlikely to be any long dry hot spells, but at the same time it will be generally warmer than average so there is likely to be one or two short lived Hot spells followed by some Thunder. On the whole its likely to become wetter than average with some thundery downpours and often this month it will become muggy and very warm and oppressive. The first week looks cool and unsettled, punctuated by some sunshine and week two very similar at first but becoming very warm and thundery, but washed down later with some showers ,then turning fresher and cooler, and a drier third week, but warming up again at this stage and as we go into the fourth week and potentially this may be the Hottest week of the Year but again some widespread Notable Thunderstorms are likely, eventually turning it cooler and fresher.

Your Weekend Forecast,,,,

Another weekend upon us and it has to be said tonight shows no indication of what the weekends weather holds out! A wet /warm night to come tonight with hill and mountain fog and welcome persistent Rain and this stays overnight and Saturday dawns, drizzly and damp and muggy, the day will slowly brighten up with some warm and humid conditions later in the day with temperatures getting as high as 22c/72f. Sunday is a very warm day perhaps the hottest of the year so far with temperatures pushing up to 28c/82f but feeling very humid and if you're like me in these conditions a touch uncomfortable! Some thunderstorms are possible but very isolated, so a weekend of contrasts, from the Rain Mac to the Suncream....! I will be back on Sunday with the very latest on the week ahead forecast...See Ya Ian.

Your Weekend Forecast..!

Not much to say about our so called Summer weather except its what the Gardens and Growers need   RAIN!.
Tonight will see some heavy rain perhaps some localized flooding for a time and this slowly clears away during the night time hours only to be replaced by more heavy showers by first thing on Saturday. That sets the scene through the rest of the day with hail and thunder also a possibility and a cools breeze to, max temperature 16c/61f, Sunday similar but the showers somewhat more light and scattered so some places picticularly over the West of our region into Wales may get away with a dryish day! Whatever you are doing have a great weekend...See Ya  Ian.
