Weather Round Up For May 2011...

May was often a very Changeable month but failed to deliver anything special in terms of temperature as its previous month of April did. Rainfall at the worcestershireweather.com headquarters was still below average at 39mms compared to the normal rainfall of 61mms but again locally across our Forecast area rainfall was somewhat higher and nearer to average. Daytime average for May was well above average at 18.2c compared to the norm of  16.4c. The night time low temperatures were about average at 7.4c and recorded was 7.9c. Pressure was anything between 1025mbs on the 15th [Sunday] and a 1008.2mbs on the Saturday [7th]. Unusually windy Too as a strong low pressure system developed towards Scotland [giving them violent gusts of wind] with a Gust of wind off 33mph recorded on the Monday 23rd which is in a shelterd location locally that day winds on the Hills[Cotswolds/Malverns] or[Black /Cambrian Mountains] [Brecon Beacons] gusting up to 60Mph. Thunderstorms were about on the Friday 6th.The highest day temperature was 24.8c /77f on the Friday 6th. Coldest nightime temperature came out at 0.8/33f and locally an air frost in the Welsh Marches on the 4th [Weds].
