Hi folks. The week ahead looks to remain on a very unsettled note with blustery winds heavy showers and some more general rain at times. The good news is that the winds will be coming in from a mild South or Southwesterly direction, so wet and mild sums if up! Take care ,Back soon...Ian.

Weather Round-Up For .......September 2013.

A fair month, with a very warm start. Below average rainfall again with 49.2mms recorded compared to the average of 62mms. Highest pressure was a 1028mbs on the 22nd and lowest was a 1005.8mbs on the 30th. A colder phase mid month due to low pressure north of Scotland dragging some colder air down from Greenland on the 10th with blustery cold winds for a time and some early snowfall for the tops the Scottish mountains and the tops of Snowdonia. Highest day temperature was 28.3c/83f on the 4th and the coldest temperature was on the 15th with 6c/43f .The average daily temperature came out about average at 18.3c/65f and the nightly low temperatures came out about average at 10.5c/51f.

Weather Round-Up For.......August 2013.

It was a mixed month compared to July but given recent Augusts it was a good one in terms of summery weather! The hottest day of the Summer and year occurred on the 1st with 32.1c/90f which was the hottest day here since 2006.There was 18 days where it was completely dry,resulting in below average rainfall of 55.2mms recorded compared to the average of 66mms. The coolest night temperature was 10.1c/50f on the 8th. The highest pressure was a 1024.1mbs on the 22nd and the lowest pressure was 995.1mbs on the 17th.The average daily temperature came up slightly above average at 22.1c/72f compared to the normal of 21c/70f and the average night or low temperature came out at slightly above normal at 13.2c/55f compared to the norm of 12.1c/54f. Altogeather  a decent summer month!

The weekend forecast...

Evening Folks! Dull, Damp and Dismal, just about sums up the weekend, with a cold wind as well., a little brightness possible but some periods of rain at times which may well be on the heavy side. I think a good weekend for the "Indoors" Back on Sunday! Have a good one.... Ian.

Your week ahead forecast....

The chart above gives us a big change midweek with the first of some cold weather to invade ours shores but between then some fine weather , and staying mild and dry but, with some mist and fog in the mornings between now and Wednesday. By midweek ,we find a cold front moving south with some patchy rain and that introduces some colder air by Thursday but breezy weather from the North, but some sparkling sunshine .but with a wind-chill, and a dry day to come, and expect Jack Frost to make an appearance by Friday morning, perhaps the first of the windscreen scraping season! Then as we progress into later Friday winds coming in from the NorthEast ,but introducing more cloud and some showery rain, to greet the weekend!! See you soon.....Ian.

Your weekend forecast....

Evening folks! Its been a bit of a rough ride the last few days but the good news is that the weather will settle down this weekend with some "mists and mellow fruitfulness". Saturday, dawns bright but with some fog patches, then becoming pleasant with some sunny intervals, highs of 19c/66f. Sunday may well dawn foggy,  in valleys but slowly brightening up with some sunshine. Light winds nad highs of  17c/63f, lows of 5c/41f. Have a great weekend and Im back on Sunday... Ian.
