September, saw a fine warm and settled start, to the month this lasting well into mid-month. Temperatures were well into the 70,s with the highest month temperature hitting 25.7c/78f on the 9th. The weather changed dramatically, from the 21st with heavy rain and strong winds. The lowest temperature recorded during the month, was 1.5c/35f on the 22nd leading to a widespread ground frost. Nearly two inches of rain fell in 24hrs on the 24th,with parts of NorthEast England recieving up to six inches of rain in 48hrs resulting in some serious flooding. The rainfall was almost bone dry suring the first half of the month, then the second half was very wet resulting in above average rainfall ,with 73mms recorded, with the average monthly rainfall of 63mms. The average day temperature is 18.3c/64f compared to the recorded temperature of 18.5c/64f. The average nightly temperature is 10c/50f and recorded was 8.5c/47f. A two faced September!

Evening folks! Its that time of year when weve now turned the clocks back and the dark Winterlike nights are well and truly with us! The weather this week will be dominated by Low pressure so plenty of rain and wind to come and feeling cold too. Its not all doom and gloom though as Monday and Tuesday look mainly dry allbeit rather cloudy so limited spells of sunshine. Wednesday starts off ok , but wind and rain later on, bad news for those trick and treaters! Thursday a fairly dry day with some sunsshine but feeling cold in that wind. Weekends Weather!
Evening ! As the chart above shows a lot of cold unsettled weather to come! Saturday, although, will be a fair allbeit cold day with some frost to start the day, especially if your sheltered from the wind. A crisp start to the day with some good sunny intervals showing up the beautiful Autumn colours this year. Some patchy cloud from time to time and temperatures heading up to the dizzy heights of 7c/45f but it will feel cold in the shade! A cold clear evening leading to an early frost, then the breeze picking up and cloud moving during the early hours of Sunday morning , and then Sunday overcast and rather cold with outbreaks of rain, and although milder at 10c/50f it wont feel colder than Saturday.What ever youre doing have a great weekend and I will be with youre Video forecast for the week ahead on Sunday....Ian.!

A weekend of two faces, Saturday looks a fine dry day with some glimmers of sunshine after some patchy mist or even fog, feeling mild in any bright or sunny intervals although always a lot of cloud. Good evening! The first air frost of the season greeted those who got up early! Monday morning will dawn similiar although some fog may linger longer! A nice Autumn day to come but thickening cloud and showery rain will make an entrance late afternoon and evening period into Tuesday that clears away to leave Tuesday a fine day allbeit breezy then into wednesday ok for the morning but rain and wind later in the afternoon. Your Weekend Weather....!
Evening! Well its Friday again and yes its raining again!! Good news is that this weekend will see some usable weather for the outdoors, a good oppurtunity for clearing and tidying the garden for the Winter months! Saturday, will dawn misty if not foggy although high ground such as the Malverns, Cotswolds and the Witley hills escaping that scenario. A fair day, with some sunshine, Skies clearing later to leave a very chilly night and over to Sunday morning some frost and fog to contend with then bright skies to leave a mostly fine day but cloud and wind picking up late in the day. Highs this weekend 15c/59f dipping too 0c/32f And ,yes youve guessed it more rain, but good news most of us will be a sleep by then!!Have a good one! Ian.

Weather Round-Up For.......August 2012.
August carried on the fimiliar tune of summer 2012 with very unsettled weather generally, although there were some fair and warm spells! The highest temperature recorded was on the 19th where 26.1c/79f being recorded . The coolest temperature was at the end of the month where some parts of the uk recorded a record low for August. The temperature here was a cold 4.7c/40f which made it the coolest August night here too for many years! Again rainfall was above average, not quite so high as recent months but still coming in at 86.4mms compared to the average of 66mms with only 9 dry days throughout the month. Temperatures were typically average for August, 21.4c/71f, for a daytime average and nightime lows of 12.1c/54f. Windy at times too with a gust of wind of 29mph SouthWesterly on the 17th. Thunder was heard at times and rainfall totals were made up of some quite intense downpours although rather shortlived!
